I would like to run groff on VMS but nobody seems to have ported it over so I am going to try to
do it myself. Scratch that. Groff is a complex glop of shared libraries, C++ and who knows what else lashed into a binary with gmake so I thought I would start by porting troff or itroff.
Has anybody ported or started to port any of the *roff text processing applications? jIf not, is there any objection to me taking on this task?
It has got to be easier that proting Open Office!!!!

The nroff, troff, and such are distantly related to the Digital Standard Runoff. It is possible with some editing macros or other automation to convert those files so that the RUNOFF program on VMS can process them.
If you have the converter program scan the subtopics to make sure that they are unique and legal VMS help titles, it is possible to convert such documents to VMS help topics using Runoff.
And of course I doubt that anyone would object to someone porting or refreshing a port of anything to VMS.
