I have picked up a military ruggedized 8250 and am getting it in shape to run. Had to blow the sand out of it- must have see service in some interesting places!
Anyway, i cleaned contacts, reseated boards and found the only casualty is the T1003 board in the KDB50 board set. CPU, MS820, DEBNA and 6 of the ICP-6132 serial cards. This machine has circular mil type connectors for all the interfaces, so I am looking for cab kits for the KDB50 set so I can hook up an old RA90 or something, until I can either build or beg an original cable set from the manufacturer (hoping they have some laying around).
A few thing I need help on are the pinouts for the DEBNA(t1034) to fabricate a cable to a TK50, and the ethernet aui cable...can't find a pdf of a manual anywhere on web. Help!
Anyone hear of, or have experience with one of these machines?
Anyone willing to 'donate' a RA90, tk50, cables or tk50 vms media- I am willing to trade for IBM/Lenovo parts, Dell stuff, etc.
Not at this point - though I had a general plant o get it fully operational and find it a home(museum). For me, the enjoyment is getting the hardware ship shape.
Once it's done, the thrill is gone
I checked a few museums, and one of the larger, well know ones isn't accepting DEC mini's. But I'm not sure that's the case with all the facilities...
