I am trying to send an e-mail from a VAX system using SMTP with an attachment. The problem is if I do it manually rather than using SMTP it is O.K. but the attachment received when using MAIL/FOREIGN does not contain the document just Null characters |

I have discovered that using mail/foreign send the file encoded, but once I decoded the file it just had 2 lines in it!! |

I have found out what has gone wrong, \if when I receive the message I change the Font to r_ansi 8 everything falls into place. What I need to know is if there is a way of changing the format before I receive the email in vaxmail. |

I think I might have confused the issue. All I need to know is how to change the format of the email when I use mail/subj="xxx" xxxx.xx "[email protected]" is there some parameter that I need to put in? |
