I am running DW-MOTF 1.2-6 on OpenVMS 7.3 on a VS3100 M38 with GPX color option. All necessary MIN_* values have been applied to MODPARAMS.DAT (According to the DW-MOTIF Installation and Upgrade guide), after installing die DW-MOTIF PCSI and a reboot the DW-MOTIF starts and the GUI is pretty responsive, even on that good old Vaxstation. So far so good, here comes the trouble:
Since I live in Germany I would like to use my AUSTRIAN_GERMAN_LK401AG_TW layout keyboard. So I copied the DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.TEMPLATE to DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COM and changed the keyboard mapping via DECW$DEFAULT_KEYBOARD_MAP=="AUSTRIAN_GERMAN_LK401AG_TW".
After a reboot I get a German keyboard layout, yes, even on the login screen, but compared to the previous behavior without an active config file, the screen updates and scrolling are sooooo much slower. The keyboard section is the only part in the config file I changed, no other options have been enabled. Is it true that changing a symbol would make the entire system so much slower ? Is there anything additional I have to configure ? Any hint appreciated,
