Hi,
on my alpha I use the option auto_action boot.
If I set up my "new" VAX like
boot dka100:
and enter
boot
at the SRM console it boots the system.
Is there a setting to boot automatically?
I already tried "set halt" but it seems to work not as expected. |

Depends on the VAX model. Some of these commands might be relevant.
Autoboot console commands on VAX systems:
SET BOOT ddvu
SET HALT REBOOT
- or -
SET BFLG 2 (0EFAULT, 1:RESTART, 2:REBOOT, 3:HALT, 4:RESTART_REBOOT)

Some VAXes have a switch that controls the boot process. The 4000 series pedestals have a "break enable" switch that must be off to have autoboot.
P.S. - SRM is only on Alpha machines. VAXes have the VAX console. Syntax is very similar, but it can sometimes be confusing. |

MicroVAXen also have a console switch, as do 6000 series. What type of VAX are you running? |
