Hi,
I need a little bit help.
I have got the device which is in the subject.
LAT would be supported with a license string. I tried to reach Lantronix for the string and the answer was "It is very old product." I know this. I don't want to buy I just wamt to use its LAT protocol.
Any suggest for this problem?
Outgoing LAT is working because I was able to connect a Linux machine on which the latd is running.
The service which was defiened on the TS can be seen but in "Unavailable" state. I think that's why the missing LAT license string.
TIA, |

The LAT license string is an extra charge item.
If you are lucky, the source you got the device from has some paperwork with the license key.
An internet search shows several Lantronix dealers offering similar devices with the note that the license key is available as an extra charge item.
I suspect that Lantronix needed to pay a license fee to Digital or some company that Digital/Compaq/HP sold the patent to.
I saw a LAT license for a different terminal server advertised at around $120.00 U.S.

I wrote to Lantronix itself and 2 distributor in Hungary.
Lantronix answer was the device was too old. That's all. Nothing more. No advice, no price, nothing. |
