I'm new on this forum.
I have an XP900 (DS10) with 2 OpenVMS installs:
- one with OpenVMS 7.3. No problem with TCPIP and the network.
- the second one with 8.4 I just installed: TCPIP is not working properly.
When I ping my PC at times it works, at times the answer is "network down".
I have that on all the ethernet ports of the machine.
When booting again 7.3 without any change to the cables, no problem at all!
Any idea?
Of course I can remain on 7.3 but a hobbyist is a hobbyist!
TIA.
Thanks Bruce.
My alpha is an "end node" connected to a local router (19.168.1.1) which is itself connected to internet.
But I have the same problems when I directly connect the cable from the alpha to a vaxstation which is in the same attic.
Which is the parameter in TCPIP$config that could have some influence?

MarkRLV September 17 2021 At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.
