I want to add a new user that can use DecWindows -- I got a user added but it only gets a decwindows session
with one Decterm, I want the New Desktop session like System gets.
Can you give me a link to the system management documents with this info? |

The permanent links on the HP site are the ones with a "GO" in them.
http://www.hp.com/go/openvms
Then look for the documentation link on the side.
Today the link is:
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/index.html
The presence of a Decterm would be under the DecWindows Motif section.
Under the new desktop, it remembers what applications launched from it are running when the user logs out and then launches them again on the next log in.
As far as which desktop gets launched, if you installed both the new and the old desktop, there is a selection button on the login screen as to which one to use. There is a logical name that in one of the SYS$MANAGERECW$PRIVATE*.COM procedure that can override what you selected at install time.

This happens if the users home folder doesn't exist.
you should assign a valid device/directory to that user. |
