Hello all,
I’m looking to find out if its possible to have a retired software product added to the standard PAK for Hobbyists? And if so, what would be the process?
Specifically I am interested in having added:
Product Name : VAX LISP/VMS
Producer : DEC
Version : 3.1
Release Date : 23-MAR-1990
Platform : OpenVMS VAX
UPI : 917AA
From the LISP031_SSA.TXT File:
Software Licenses: QL-917A*-**
Software Media: QA-917AA-**
Software Documentation: QA-917AA-GZ
Software Product Services: QT-917A*-**
I believe it was officially retired in about 1996 or so.
Any information or direction you have would be helpful.

Requests for changes to what License PAKs and or software are distributed to Hobbyists need to be sent to the same e-mail address that comes with the existing License PAKs.
If HPE still owns rights to a product, they should not have a problem adding the key.
If you are requesting a license key for a VAX product, ask for the key to be available for IA64 also, as it may be possible to run the VAX/LISP binaries through the translator.

Thanks for the response.
As a shot in the dark I also had already sent a note to that email with all of the above information last week. So now I guess its just wait and see if they respond to acknowledge the request and see if its a doable thing or not. I will follow up that note to mention IA46 as well as you suggest. |

Just an FYI to anyone that may be interested.
I made a request to have VAX LISP added to the Hobbyist PAK. (sent the email to the address from which I received my hobbyist license PAK)
I just heard back from them today with the following email:
>Hello Rick,
>
>Thank you for your interest in OpenVMS software and for reaching out.
>
>You requested for retired products, specifically LISP, to be made available.
>Please could you share some background and how you intend to use the software?
I'm sending of a note to explain my non-commercial hobbyist interest and letting them know that there are others who have expressed interest in having it added to the PAK as well. Whatever I hear back I will update to this thread.
For those interested in the retired LISP product, it might not be a bad idea to send your own requests as well. Just a thought, can't hurt.
