$license load fortran

should work (I recently moved, and have not powered up my Alpha yet, so I can't verify this command).

OK -

As the above messages show, the FORTRAN license was successfully loaded. I've looked at the results of "prod show prod", and I notice that FORTRAN was not listed. Have you installed the FORTRAN kit (including the run-time component)?

I thought I loaded all components of the OVMS and Layered products kits. FORTRAN was the primary reason for getting the machine and license.
Is there a file or directory I can search for that will tell if fortran was loaded?

$prod show history should show you if the fortran kit was installed.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
