When you get your Hobbyist License Keys, there will be instructions on how
to request a temporary password to the media download site.

Hi,

When I registered (back in January) I received an email message that included instructions on how to request a temporary password. However, having tried that yesterday, it bounced with: "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual alias table".

Is the email contact address likely to have changed? It has been a while. Would it be possible to private message me with the latest contact details if they' have changed, or is it just a temporary problem?

Thanks,
Duncan.

FIrstly, sorry for putting the above in the wrong section - d'oh!

Secondly, I found my Montagar media set for the Alpha. (Stupidly, I'd left it in the server's drive - strangely the last place I'd look for it!).

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have some fun when I get the power supply working again. Ah, I love the smell of smoke in the evening ;-)

Thanks,
Duncan.

The e-mail address has changed. When you request a new set of license keys, they should come with the new address.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
