I am curious about making multiple emulations with the freeaxp and trying to build a cluster.
Do I need to request multiple base and layered product license paks?
Has anyone successfully gotten the Freeaxp to become a cluster?
I am just starting with freeaxp and of course my mind starts thinking of pushing the limits. |

You need an operating system license key for each member of the cluster.
When you install the license key, you must modify it to include the SCS nodename of the cluster member.
You only need one set of layered product licenses, and multiple requests before a few months before their expiration will just send the same license keys.
I have a cluster running FreeAXP under Windows XP in a Virtual Box VM and SimH under Ubuntu in a second Virtual Box VM, on a Mac Book Pro.
There is a simulated LAN that is private to the VirtualBox VMs adn the emulators for high speed internal communications, and a bridged connection to the local LAN for outside communications.

We have successfully built multi-node clusters using both FreeAXP and Avanti. One of the sessions we presented during the 2011 OpenVMS Boot Camp was building a multi-node cluster with the student systems. We built 6 and 8 node clusters during the sessions. |
