I decided to install the latest version last week, just after some Microsoft updates came out and I installed them on a Windows 10 machine.
The installer will not complete now. I assumed it was something in V2.6.1.560, so I uninstalled and went back to my prior release of V2.4.4.537.
That failed the same way. Here is what I see: The installer begins, all prompts are answered (Next, Next, Install) then it says "An external action failed. The installation will be cancelled". All I can click is OK. Then I see: "The installation of FreeAXP Virtual Alpha has been cancelled. To install it, you should run FreeAXP64 Installer again" Of course I did that several times.
Here is what is funny. If I don't click "Finish" on the installed, I can actually run it no problem. In fact I have had one of my systems running for several days.
Anyone else seen this??

Is this 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 10? |

Good to hear. If there is anything I can try, let me know. |

We've placed a Windows 10 beta kit on the web site. You can access it via the Freeaxp.com web page. This kit will only run under Windows 10 64-bit. There is a bug in the Windows 10 32-bit NDIS driver. |

That appears to have fixed the install problem. Thanks! |

I have also Windows 10. But in my case the latest installer did not fix the problem.
I guess that the problem to install the NIC-module when installing FreeAxp could be that I have virtual NIC:s for Virtual Box and Juniper, as well as the physical one. Could it?
I tried to install from: freeaxpsetup_598a.exe
I can install if I uncheck the network module when installing. |

From the FreeAXP Release Notes:
5.1 WINDOWS 8 AND WINDOWS 10 32-BIT SUPPORT
FreeAXP does not currently run under the 32-bit edition of Windows 8 or 10. The 32-bit NDIS driver is broken under these operating systems. Microsoft has the problem noted for repair without a committed repair date.
Upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll get better performance.
