Hi,
I have tried setting up the latest FreeAXP on our test Windows 2003 server that has only 1 NIC. I have followed the installation guide and had setup the TAP-Win32 Adapter V9, and had successfully bridged it to my physical NIC. Prior to bridging the virtual and physical adapter, I removed the selected options in the window "this connection uses the following:" from the TAP-Win32 adapter. Only after that I did the bridging.
Now my question is, if I want my FreeAXP OVMS system connect to our LAN using the single NIC that my test server is using, how do I configure the OVMS system's TCP/IP settings? Which IP address should I use? I tried to set it up using the same IP address with the host Win2003 system, but it can not communicate outside.
Any ideas? Thanks. |

You would give it its own unique TCP/IP address.

Hi Bruce,
I added a unique IP address to the WE0, but it still can not connect to the LAN, nor I can have a successful PING to/from the host and the guest.

The implication is that the TAP adapter is not communicating. Try turning IPV4 back on and see if it works with Windows. Once you know it is communication, then test it again with FreeAXP. |

Hi Roose,
Could you post your FreeAXp configuration file, as well as a liist of your network adapters (physical adapter, TAP, and bridge), with the name, device name and status columns as found in the Network Connections control panel (like this:
Local Area Connection Enabled, Bridged Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
Network Bridge Unidentified Network MAC Bridge Miniport
Local Area Connection #2 Enabled, Bridged TAP-Win32 Adapter V9
