Hi Fellow FreeAXP Users:
Sorry for being brief, but it's midnight in Japan. I'm running FreeAXP 283 with VMS 8.3. Everything seems to be working. You can do Decnet directories of remote systems from virtual VMS, and you can TCP/IP ping remote systems from virtual too. CIFS for VMS V1.1 (Samba) works fine. Just one thing looks strange. While you can ping out from virtual VMS and other nodes can ping in, the Windows 2008 r2 host can't ping it's virtual VMS system and the virtual VMS system can't ping it's Windows host. Is this a problem or just a network funny? The 2008 r2 host and the virtual VMS system are sharing a network card at the moment. We plan to add a mezzanine card to the BL460c G7 blade and see if separating them helps. However, I can't think of a situation where this odd parent - child communication problem would be an issue for us.

I'm not surprised that they can not see each other and would expect a separate network card will help. |

I'm not suru if this is problem, but I had this kind of the problem with my windows 7.
You can check in the firewall settings (extendet properties) if ICPMv4 is allowed.
Windows Server 2008 R2 is the same code base as Windows 7
Windows Server 2008 was Vista code base.
So this might be helpfull.
Anyway, even if I could not ping I could access the virtual machine. |

If you are sharing a single NIC and want the host system and virtual Alpha to see each other, you will need to add a virtual network adapter to Windows. See section 5.1.2 in the FreeAXP User Guide:
