What type of file are you trying to edit?

Which editor are you trying to use? EVE, EDT, or TECO.

Is your terminal actually an ANSI terminal set to ANSI mode?

The console mode of a VAXstation is not ANSI.

Hello

I have figured it out. In simh the command terminal will not work when even set to vt100. How i fixed this problem was to set a terminal port up in the vax.ini file "set console port 6969" then i downloaded putty. Run the emulator when it says waiting for tenet connection start putty with the telnet and port settings and all works ok...

Thanks for all your input on this I will now save my silly questions for something more important LOL

thanks again

if you are in the snow that is happening here Please stay warm and drive careful

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
