Hi There,

I am new to Open VMS and Free AXP emulator. I want to transfer some file from Windows 7 (64-bit) to Open VMS through Free AXP emulator. Can you please provide steps how to enable FTP and transfer files from the same. I create on FTP in windows and want to transfer file by using that FTP. Or you can provide any existing link or Forum for the same where I can find the steps.

You have to have a TCP/IP program installed on the VMS system.

The hobbyist kits come with HP stack, and Process Software provides some alternate TCP/IP stacks under their hobby license.

The HP VMS documentation site has configuration instructions for configuring TCP/IP and there may be some people that have posted some step by step instructions.

In general it is just making sure that the UCX or TCPIP license key is installed, installing TCPIP as part of installing VMS and then running the @TCPIP$CONFIG procedure.

Depending upon the version of TCP/IP installed, you'll want to run either UCX$CONFIG.COM or TCPIP$CONFIG.COM to set up TCP/IP services and FTP under VMS. Look for the configuration procedures in the SYS$MANAGER directory.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
