I'm a hobbyist based in Cumbria, UK.
In the past I used to work on contract for DEC, using VMS and VMS/ELN on various projects large and small, in Germany, France and the US.
I have a selection of old VAX and Alpha boxes at home that have run VMS/Unix and Linux in the past and I am now (slowly) getting them back up and running on VMS.
My interests are in Internet technology, networking and software development, including c, c++, perl, php in no particular order.
I'm also looking into the possibility of running VMS on Itanium/Integrity from home so that I can try porting some of the VMS programs I have developed.
I have read that Itanium VMS is covered on the Hobbyist licence, but there is very little detail at the Hobbyist website.
Does anyone have a lead on where to get the VMS 8.2-1 images for Integrity that can be used with Hobbyist licences?
I've been quoted over £400 for the media kit from a UK supplier.
Getting media is a constant problem for VMS hobbyists.
Most people borrow from someone they know or where they work. There are kits for alpha and VAX layered products available for download.
Do you have an hp Integrity system just waiting to load VMS on ?
