Greetings! My name is David Alldredge from Silver Spring, MD and I like to play around with VMS. It was the OS I grew up on and I still love it. I have a current need maybe someone out there can help me with. I have an Alpha Server 810 running OpenVMS Version 7.2 and would like to communicate with it with PATHWORKS 32 on a Windows NT 4.0 workstation. The current version of Pathworks 32 that HP sells (Version 7.4) does not support Windows NT only XP and VISTA. Does anyone know of a source for Pathworks 32 Version 7.1 or earlier which does support Windows NT? Any help would be appreciated. |

I would recommend you upgrade your alphaserver to current VMS - you can get a kit from this site or borrow one. Then install
HP OpenVMS Common Internet File System (CIFS) based on Samba which is available for free from

SAMBA is the way to go. Even HP is dropping PATHWORKS.
Also, PATHWORKS was never on the Hobbyist list since it is a royalty product. They pay for every license sold, and I think part of it goes to Microsoft. |

Thanks to everyone who responded. I appreciate the advice and will give up on Pathworks and move to the SAMBA based product. Especially since it is free! |
