Yep, the vax mv3100 has crashed after the hard drive failed.
luckily we have current backups.
however, we have lost the decnet mv3100 media and the openvms 7.1 media.
is there anywhere i can download these to boot our system backup up again? |

For a hobby system, VAX/VMS 7.3 media is available for download by following the instructions in the e-mail that delivered the licenses.
For HP alliance-one company members VMS disk images are available for download.
No other public downloads are permitted by HP. Replacement media should be available from HP for a charge.
For older media for hobbyist, the best option is to let your location be known so that a local hobbyist can contact you. If you get no response here, posting on the comp.os.vms newsgroup may get a better response.

unfortunately, we ordered this media over 15 years ago and the company has changed hands 3 times so no access to that email. |

The e-mail refers to the non-commercial hobbyist use.
This is a VMS hobbyist forum.
Commercial license keys came on paper sheets, not e-mail.
Again it is possible a nearby site can help you out, or you can contact HP to find out how much it costs for a replacement CD-ROM.
This indicates that you did not have standalone backup installed on an alternate disk.
A VAX/VMS 7.3 CD-ROM can restore an older backup saveset.
There is no separate decnet media.
