Hello everybody,

I might have the possibility to put online all the kits (found on vmsone.com before) and the VMS it self (several version for both alpha & vax) on a server. But is it legal?
Actually I guess for the Kits is legal, because they are/were available from some sites (like vmsone.com & others).
The VMS itself is available on the ftp server at HP (both alpha & itanium). The vax version is available on several servers as well. So... I guess it is legal? Any comments?

IIRC VMS kits are available on a HP ftp for contract customers only.

I think the kits on vmsone where unofficial. The last time I asked HP about making VMS kits available online they where undecided.

You will have to ask HP for an official answer however I know from talking to them that they have to control distribution of kits to comply with export laws.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
