OK guys (and gals)... it's been a while for me, but I have two AlphaServer4100s (EV5s) that I have LAVC clustered (No CI Adapter yet), and I have downloaded a boatload of freeware to my Dell (XP PRO) laptop. I dont have direct network connectivity for the VMS boxes yet, so I have to use the PC to download the media.
I got Apache from HP last night, and cut a CD of the compressed product install. That unziped(?) the files fine, but when I input:
$ Product Install with the product name, it says it cant find the blasted thing. I've been a systems manager for years, but have had a 7 year lapse, and dont remember what the fix is.
Can anyone please help this senile mind out?
thanks in advance.

is the kit .PCSI$COMPRESSED ?
If so you need to install the current PCSI patch kit for your version of VMS first so it knows how to deal with them. |

Thanks for the info, but what patch needs to be installed.
Compaq, now HP have got to have the most convoluted websites...
A simple listing of Patches by name and what they address would be too much to ask from these simple minded UNIX/Windows types...
grrr.
Your reply is appreciated though... Thanks |

easiest way is ftp
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/openvms_patches/alpha/
then the directory for the version of VMS that you are running.
For example for V7.3-2 then you want
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/openvms_patches/alpha/V7.3-2/VMS732_PCSI-V0300.PCSI-DCX_AXPEXE |
