I've always done the Hobbyist kits as glass-mastered. When John Wisniewski and I started this up, we wanted the CD's to be long lasting, and worth collecting, too! Surprisingly, my cost to have new disks pressed was a little less than last time. So there will be no price increase, and shipping is still free![/quote:27c01f363d]

Good news, indeed. I've visited the "purchase" link a number of times recently, but the content still lists V7.3-1 as the media to be purchased.

I'm going to order now, but I really do want the V8.3 CD; I already have the V7.3-1 CD! :-)

Thanks!

A couple of days early! I just got the shipment yesterday afternoon. I've tested to make sure my DS10L could successfully boot, performed some basic operations, tested that all the zip files and included unzip utility worked, and such.

Everything looks good!

All the back orders will be shipped tonight. Also, anyone that received a beta kit should receive their official release as well.

Got mine in Central MA, USA two days ago - thanks!

I've gotten VAX and Alpha kits for a number of years from here, and they've always been useful. Please consider ordering one. They also make great gifts! :-)

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
