Hi There,

I am new to open VMS. I am running Free Vax emulator on windows 7 (64 bit) and install Open VMS on the same. But I need to run TCP IP commands which need license version. Can anyone help me, how can I do Registration on OpenVMS Hobbyist site to get licensee for the same. From where I can get Membership number so that I can register successfully on Hobbyist site and get my license.

I haven't licensed VMS in a long time. I was a DECUS member and then an Encompass member. It seems to have changed again. Now it looks like I have to be a Connect member and now have to pay 50 dollars a year. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? What is the process now to get a membership number?

Hello again,
Over two years later. I am once again trying to find out how to license my hobbyist machines. I have a new IA64 machine I would love to play with but can't seem to find the path to getting licenses. The answer I received in 2015 worked at that time but doesn't seem to work anymore.

So once again, what is the proper method for getting hobbyist licenses for OpenVMS?

I have updated the pinned posts at the top of these forums with the current information that I have.

A web search of "HPE.COM OpenVMS hobbyist" produced the link to registering licenses.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

Can someone please point me to hobbyist license pak? I'm looking for VAX/VMS 7.1, DECnet Phase IV, and UCX/TCPIP ... have the 7.1 media, need the license paks ... thanks!
