My current license expires today, so I registered a couple of days ago on the new registration page with my DECUserve details. the process closes stating:-
Thanks for registering!
We'll be responding soon.

The last time I went through the system, it only took a few hours. I do not know if it is an automated process or if a human is involved as it came from the personal e-mail address of an HP employee that works with the Alliance One program.
If it is a manual system, you may not see anything until business hours in the U.S. |

I'm pretty sure a human is involved. I work nights and when I put in a request after 8PM there is no reply until the next day.
If the person is on vacation or leave for some reason, your response may be delayed.

2 weeks since I registered my details on the HP system and nothing from them. They are really supporting hobbyists! |

If you have not heard back in about 1 to 2 business days, I would assume that something got lost and would reapply. |

They're supporting them well enough to provide downloadable media as well as have someone paid to oversee the hobbyist program. In my book that's pretty good, considering that most of us probably won't be in a position to recommend OpenVMS as a commercial purchase in the near future. |
