Hello everyone,
I've tried various combinations for the "OpenVMS VAX Base License and Layered Products" to get PAK UCX, but always I've got all PAK's on the Alpha:

What's wrong? Do I need special PAK's for DECNET IV?

You need the VAX license PAKs for SimH. Use FreeAXP with your Alpha PAKs. |

For the installing I have been using the instructions http://www.wherry.com/gadgets/retrocomputing/vax-simh.html. With the PAK "OpenVMS VAX Base License" I don't have any problem. In the step installing TCPIP , it seems, that the UCX PAK is not correct, look likes for ALPHA.

There are layered products for VAX/Alpha and for Integrity. The UCX-IP-CLIENT PAK you posted is an Integrity one. You'll have to go back to the registration page and request Layered Product PAKs for VAX/Alpha.
BTW: The full PAK for HP TCP/IP Services is named "UCX", the DECnet PAK is named "DVNETEND".

Telnet and a number of other utilities are included in the UCX License Key.
There are some third pary freeware from Hunter Goatley and the former MadGoat software team that may substitute for FTP servers and such. |

Telnet is outside of this PAK's?
Mind you, there are two separate PAKs, a severly resrticted one named "UCX-IP-CLIENT", and the real thing which is named "UCX".

Telnet&FTP is OK, my mistake. Now I'm trying Decnet via linux DNPROGS for the terminal access and file copy.Thanx.
