I attempted to download the "Installation Guide for OpenVMS VAX Hobbyist" but the .pdf file I get looks corrupted, or at least I am unable to open it.
Where can I get a copy?
Regards

I don't have the CD's handy, but I think it would appear on the VAX hobbyist CD. ISTR many years ago, accessing such a document on the Alpha Hobbyist CD.
I'll do some more hunting around on the website here. |

It looks as though the Alpha PDF installation guide is fine, but it's not much help for those who want to install VAX, which is a slightly different install procedure.
The good news is that the installation procedure, VAX or ALPHA, contains enough information and helpful prompts, so that installation is do-able.
Or you could wait for a helpful person who might have a non-corrupt copy. I've not installed VAX since 2002, so I wouldn't be of much help. |

This link on the SIMH website:
<http://www.wherry.com/gadgets/retrocomputing/vax-simh.html>
contains a complete VAX installation example. Perhaps it would be of some use? |
